Desi Valentine is a London-born, L.A.-based soul singer and songwriter, and the lead vocalist on forthcoming Stax Records reimagined album “ODP,” out Spring 2016 from Concord Music Group / Stax Records. Desi is known for his bluesy baritone voice, unique retro R&B style, and radiant charisma, and has drawn comparisons to Amy Winehouse.

The “ODP” album is a one-of-a-kind project that takes original analog samples from the Stax Records catalog and creates brand new songs to pay homage to the legendary label. This is the first time the trailblazing Stax catalog has ever gotten this treatment. Working with producers David Field and Vince Pizzinga, Desi is not only the lead male vocalist on the album, he co-wrote two of the songs as well. Desi is also the newest signing to soul publishing powerhouse Defend Music, which also houses the songs of Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings and Eli Paperboy Reed.

Desi has been a fixture at clubs around Los Angeles over the last year, headlining Hotel Café, House of Blues and the Sayers Club. In early 2015, Desi collaborated with New York-based production team Patchwork Bessie on the song “One Night Stand.” The hip-shaking lament to an ill-fated affair premiered on on Okayplayer and Wired Magazine.
